About KAKE — Strawberry Filled
The odd one out in the KAKE range, and deliberately so. Where the other three hide under dark cocoa, this one wears a pale pink strawberry compound shell — it looks like a different product on the shelf, which is exactly why it sells alongside the others rather than instead of them.
Inside is a strawberry sauce made with real strawberry puree, which gives it a tartness that artificial strawberry flavouring never manages. That acidity is what keeps it from tipping into sickly; it cuts the sugar rather than piling on top of it.
At 120 calories per cake it is the lightest in the range — noticeably so against the 131 of the chocolate, caramel and banana. If someone in the household finds the cocoa-coated versions too rich, this is the one they will reach for.
