About KAKE — Banana Filled
This is the only cake in the range built on a dark cacao sponge instead of a golden one, and that single change is why it works. Banana against plain vanilla sponge is thin and slightly artificial. Banana against deep cocoa is something else entirely — the same logic that makes chocolate-covered banana a fairground classic.
The filling is a creamy banana-flavoured sauce, sweet and unmistakably tropical, set against the bitterness of the cacao base and finished with a cocoa shell. It is the boldest flavour in the collection and reliably the most divisive — people either rank it first or last, rarely in the middle.
131 calories per 30 g cake, with slightly less sugar than the caramel version. The cacao sponge also gives it a marginally denser, more brownie-like chew than the other three.
